About Me
The creative process is an act of courage. It means exposing before unknown witnesses the content of our hearts. Perfect or not, it is what the mind, heart and soul produce. I have discovered that by simply painting and not thinking about an audience, I can reach further down into my soul.
My recent works are expressions of who we are as humans; working, talking and walking together. Perhaps my interest in this subject comes as a consequence of our society’s distractions by electronic media. I hope my work helps to embellish and enhance relationships between and among people. Caggiano is a retired Episcopal priest and artist. In retirement she is painting full time as the fulfillment of a life long dream.
Her art invites the viewer to experience human relationships, nature’s serenity, and just plain play. Caggiano began painting and drawing from childhood. She was asked to design a cover for her college yearbook at Champlain College in 1969. She studied with Rhode Island School of Design professor, Jason Brockert as well as many other art classes
Exhibits and Awards
Her art is not limited to painting. Weaving, macrame, woodcarving, welding, soft sculpting and even a bit of sewing. In 1972, she taught weaving at the Falmouth Art Center.
Caggiano has received awards from several competitive exhibits including, the South Shore Art Center, Cohasset, MA, the Fleming Museum, Burlington, VT, the Scarib Club, Detroit, MI.
